One of the most important issues in development trend for any country is having high mental health among the youth, so the study of students' mental health as an important group in every country is so necessary. The main aim of this research is the study of mental health among Shiraz University students as a sample group.
With selecting Maslow and psychological modernization as theoretical framework and using survey method and questionnaire, about 465 students by proportional stratified random sampling were elected.
The data analysis were done by SPSS 18 software. The result have shown that there are significant relationships between mental health and birth place (the place of socialization), experience of violence in family, the rate of religiosity, membership in student associations, satisfaction of university and academic achievement. There aren’t significant relationships between mental health and age, gender, marital status and ethnicity of respondents either.
